Miss Kwiecinski serves as a reading and writing tutor for children in grades one through four. The concentration is on skills necessary for each child to become a successful student. Miss Kwiecinski also teaches physical education for third and fourth grades. Among the many activities included are basketball, kickball, hockey, and dancing. Middle school students requiring extra help in math have the opportunity to work with Miss Kwiecinski in a special Math Lab. Here students learn to apply mathematical concepts to real-life situations like converting measurements to bake cookies and doing chores to earn classroom money which, in turn, can be used to purchase things on fun days. Miss Kwiecinski’s final responsibility is to teach 5th-8th grade art. The art curriculum is integrated into the social studies and science curricula. One of the projects completed was constructing toothpick ships modeled after Christopher Columbus’ ship. Students also built a paper-mache volcano to correlate with a science lesson. Miss Rebecca Kwiencinski is new at Grace Lutheran School. She grew up in South Milwaukee only about two miles away from Grace Lutheran. After graduating from high school she attended UW-Stout and was awarded the BS in Early Childhood Education. Since returning to South Milwaukee and job hunting, she was blessed to meet Emily Lenz who recommended her for Grace Lutheran. Her home church is Messiah Evangelical Lutheran in Bay View. |
