The Core Values of Grace LutheranCalled Workers |
|||
|
We greatly value those called to serve in our midst: pastor, principal, and teachers. We recognize they are special gifts God gives to help us carry out our ministry at Grace. Ephesians 4:11 - "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers..." 1 Corinthians 12:27-31 - "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts." 1 Chronicles 27:32 - "Jonathan, David's uncle, was a counselor, a man of insight and a scribe. Jehiel son of Hacmoni took care of the king's sons." Hebrews 13:7,17 - "Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you."
